It’s all about the mommas!

April 28, 2016

Mother’s Day is next weekend! I have a few ideas you should check out for the mother in your life but first a funny story.

Two years ago on mother’s day Walker proposed to me. He had planned it for the previous day when we had plans to go to a hot spring. As it turned out we nearly got stuck on the side of a snowy mountain and missed out on the hot springs.

Last year to celebrate our engagement we planned a trip to the very hot springs we had missed out on the year before. We made it to the springs and it was lovely but I was having an issue with a blurry eye all day. The blurriness turned to extreme pain and we spent the rest of the day at the emergency room and getting medicine for my eye. Ouch!

We joked that this Mother’s Day weekend we should not leave the house BUT we inadvertently planned a wine tasting trip that weekend. Whoops. Things may not go as planned but I’m sure we will have a good laugh either way.

Now for gift ideas:

For the sentimental momma I would suggest getting her a necklace or ring from the new scrambled collection with a name or a special message to her.

For the traveling momma I love the idea of getting her the whole world.

For the momma who misses her home I would suggest a state or country necklace. Head to the shop and type her state or country in the search box.

Now give your mom a hug for me!

California Bound!

California 1

(Shop California Necklaces here)

I’m heading to California tomorrow! I’ve been a couple of times before but this will be my first time in Santa Barbara. I’m also really excited because I’ll be meeting my sister and her family there and I’ll get to help out with baby Charlotte (my new baby niece) while my sister and brother in law at are a wedding. When I was home a couple of months ago it made it easier to leave knowing I’d see them again so soon. I can’t wait for baby snuggles! One more sleep until I go!

I have a few things on my list to do but I would love to know if you have any suggestions. What are your favorite places to eat or see?

Goodbye 2015!

We actually took these on Christmas but I didn’t get around to sharing them. 2015 has been pretty great. I traveled to my first tropical location (I’m still dreaming about standing in the Caribbean Ocean while ringing in 2015 and my birthday-it was magical). I went to a conference and met some more wonderful business ladies. I have slowly and steadily built up the wholesale side of my business. I spent most of 2015 planning my wedding. I went swimming so much during the super hot Seattle summer. I got married to the above hunk. We traveled all over France and Portugal on our honeymoon. I finally introduced cuff links for men! I traveled to Michigan (my home and heart state) to be a part of my first ever art show there and was full of pride. Had a lovely holiday season quietly with Walker and a few friends around. It’s been a year of great change, lots of personal growth which I feel really good about, and a whole lot of fun.  It’s constantly on my mind what is next and where I want to be heading but for now I’ll just enjoy what has been and share the last day of the year with people I love.
