Friendships (and maintaining them) is such a dramatic, difficult thing in my experience. And I’m always jealous of people (like my husband) to whom this seems to come super easily. I’ve been very, very hurt by so-called “friends” in the past (and I’m sure I’ve unknowingly hurt others as well) but I tend to still hold onto friendships even if they aren’t healthy for me anymore… I’m just so loyal and I probably put more stock in longevity than I should. Just because you’ve known someone forever doesn’t necessarily make them a good friend. Sometimes it’s okay to move on. And often new friends are even more amazing than the ones you’ve known forever!
