Recently I took a trip home for a camping trip with my family. It seemed kind of funny since I just spent the summer there and had only been in Seattle for 2 and half weeks but it’s kind of a fall tradition now.
One of my favorite things about being home in the fall is eating my first apple cider doughnut of the season followed by my second, hehehe. On our journey to the upper peninsula to meet up with the family my dad and I stopped by apple orchard (at my request) to get the doughnuts of course, some apples and a bit of apple cider. It was the perfect way to begin the vacation.

On these extremely hot days I think of the very comfortable temperatures in Michigan from my trip home a couple of weeks ago. So comfortable in fact that I was able to sit in the sun at the beach for hours and be completely content. I did get a pretty nice sun burn though since I really couldn’t tell my skin was frying. See here in Texas the my entire body cringes when the sun beats down and all I can think of is damaging UV rays. AHHH. So I guess both places have their ups and downs. Very soon here I’ll be traveling to Michigan, this time for my sister’s wedding. While the temperatures here will remain above frying I’ll be flying into a cool Autumn. Just saying Autumn makes me smile. 🙂 See! Don’t worry though it will still be feeling like summer when I return. Here are a few photos of my last Fall trip to Michigan. I’ll be sure to share some new ones, especially since I’ll finally be going to Isle Royal! Next to the wedding of course this is the highlight of the trip.
I guess it's a feet kind of night!
